NYC Public Schools have launched a new initiative focusing on expanding Food Education across all schools. For more information on this exciting work, please visit HERE.
One component of this initiative is a Food Education Grant Program, whereby schools may apply for funding to support their unique Food and Nutrition Education interests and needs. Through this grant, schools will receive $10,000 to partner with organizations that are featured in the Food Education Service Provider list. Schools will apply for this funding beginning on September 26th and the first 60 schools will be selected for participation this year by mid-October.
In order for schools to appropriately and efficiently identify partner organizations that best meet their needs, NYC Public Schools is hosting a Food Education Partner Fair on Friday, October 27th at Teachers College, Columbia University. Representatives from selected grant schools will all be in attendance, and this will be an opportunity for them to meet with potential providers and to identify organizations that best meet their needs.
