In particular, he examines the pedagogical potential of the concept of concrete utopia to support diverse youth in envisioning alternative futures and enacting them in the present.
Dr. Antti Rajala, PhD (Education) works as a post-doctoral researcher in University of Oulu. Currently, Rajala leads the project Pedagogy of concrete utopias: Fostering youth agency and climate activism in formal education (Academy of Finland and Maj and Tor Nessling Foundation, 2020-2023). He has conducted video-based and ethnographic research in schools and early childhood settings on the topics of global education, cultures of compassion, and agency in education.
