About Us

Welcome to the Office of Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) is primarily responsible for the following:

  • Providing data to internal constituents for purposes of institutional and department level decision making, as well as to support the academic and administrative functions of the College.
  • Conducting research to provide institutional stakeholders with sophisticated analysis and strategic insights as part of an ongoing effort to help TC fulfill its overall mission.
  • Providing data to external reporting entities (both mandated and voluntary) such as the United States Department of Education (IPEDS), the New York State Education Department (NYSED), US News and World Report, and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
  • Serving as the central hub for surveys from administrative offices.  Annually administered institutional surveys include the Admitted Student Survey, the Enrolled Student Survey, and the Graduate Exit Survey.  The surveys are developed (and reviewed annually) in collaboration with offices from across the College.
  • Managing the course evaluation process in collaboration and coordination with academic departments, programs, and faculty.

If you are a member of the Teachers College faculty or staff and would like Institutional Research support (e.g. information or reports, data, survey consultancy, etc.), please submit an OIR support ticket on ServiceNow.
