Lizz Melville & Sarah Vázquez Receive Dissertation Research Award

Research@TC awards the prestigious Dissertation Research award to aid outstanding doctoral students in furthering their work on their dissertation projects. We are proud to announce that two of our Ph.D. candidates in Anthropology & Education have received the Dissertation Research award for the 2023 - 2024 academic year.

Lizz Melville (pictured left) was awarded for her dissertation project “Different Shades of White: Heritage, Ethnicity, and Far Right Governance in Southern Brazil.” Using a combination of ethnographic and historical methods, her dissertation research concerns the entanglements of European ethnic revitalization and far-right popular movements in southern Brazil. Sarah Vazquez (pictured right) was awarded for her dissertation project "LATINX MEDIA WORLDS: Digital Media Practices of Immigrant Children in Northern New Jersey." Congratulations Lizz and Sarah!
