Participatory Inquiry in Teaching and Learning about Latinidad
Informed by a participatory inquiry approach, students and teachers will collaborate with the Latinidad Curriculum Initiative research team to co-design and co-develop curriculum materials as well as help shape professional development for educators.
Teacher Inquiry Group
We invited 22 secondary school teachers from all boroughs of New York City to contribute to the development of the Latinidad Curriculum. Teachers co-designed lesson plans and contributed to the development of a course syllabus on Latinidad, provided feedback on the curriculum, collaborated with youth in the design process, and participated in shaping professional development for educators.
Student Inquiry Group
We invited high school students from all NYC boroughs to develop Curriculum materials and provide feedback on the Latinidad Curriculum. Youth with a range of backgrounds and interests collaborated with educators and the LCI team in the design process.
