Curriculum Planning Guide

Grounded in our conceptual framework and blueprint, this Latinidad Curriculum Initiative Planning Guide is designed to support educators in designing lessons and units that are grounded in the pillars and design principles of the Latinidad Curriculum Initiative. Our initiative supports culturally responsive and sustaining content and pedagogies that are dynamic and adaptable to the contextual needs of different classrooms, schools, and student and teacher backgrounds, and that highlight the intellectual and social contributions of the multitude of Latinx leaders and movements that have influenced NYC and the US. Rather than a definitive template, we present this guide, along with our lessons and curricular resources, as tools in alignment with other NYCPS materials, to support educators in the teaching of Latinidad across all disciplines, grade levels, and NYC communities.
