Dear Doctoral Students,
You have in front of you a list of topics on which the academic work of the teachers and students in the Program is (largely) based. By clicking on a heading, you will reach the page of the corresponding Topic Study Group. Each such page contains a bibliography, including selected works by the faculty and some dissertations defended at Teachers College. Such bibliographies are, of course, by no means exhaustive. Their purpose is merely to help doctoral candidates to begin working on a chosen topic, and also to make it easier for them to understand what is meant by the title of each topic, some of which are very broad. In the future, the names of doctoral candidates who are interested in a given topic will appear on the site (each candidate can, of course, sign up for several Topic Study Groups). This will make it easier to organize joint work by doctoral candidates and, possibly, certain seminars or courses. The provided bibliographies will also be useful for preparing for certification examinations.
