Dear Students,
Welcome and welcome back to our 2021-2022 academic year at Teachers College, Columbia University. Starting this academic year together is inspiring and motivating and never more so than in these challenging times. You, our students, are a bright spot and we are delighted to welcome you and welcome you back to the Social-Organizational Psychology Program.
I send these newsletters monthly from September through May to our MA program community to communicate key program information, to share interesting articles, and to spotlight student and alumni accomplishments. Feel free to let me know if there is anything you want highlighted in upcoming newsletters.
We are trying something new in the newsletter this year – the MA Student Pulse Check. We want to hear from you regularly so we can be responsive to what’s working for you and what needs work in our learning community. See below for our inaugural MA Student Pulse Check and to share your thoughts.
During our MA Program Orientation on August 31, I spoke about our program’s strengths and values and linked them to our shared world. Skilled organizational psychologists have never been more essential in every industry around the globe as we continue to stand in the middle of the change curve and try to address society’s most pressing problems. Current Student Profile
Rosaimy (Rosy) Grady is a student in the Social-Organizational Psychology Master of Arts Program and a member of the Eisenhower Leader Development Program (ELDP) at West Point. She is a Distinguished Military Graduate from Missouri Western University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Military Science. Rosy commissioned as an Army Officer through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) in 2013.
Prior to being stationed at West Point, Rosy was stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado. There, she served as a Brigade Medical Operations Officer and deployed in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel before taking command of a Brigade Support Medical Company (BSMC). After graduation from Teachers College, she will serve as a Tactical Officer at the United States Military Academy (USMA). In this role, she will act as the primary developer of cadets, assisting her cadets in balancing and integrating academic, character, physical, and military requirements.
Rosy is excited to be part of the Social-Organizational Psychology Program. She enjoys applying research and theories learned in the program curricula to her Army experience in organizational leadership. She strongly believes Teachers College will successfully equip her to implement effective and practical solutions in any setting at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
When not at school or work, Rosy loves to travel and experience new adventures with her family. Rosy and her husband, Captain Christopher Grady, are a proud dual-military couple. Together they have two children, Elaina (four) and William (one).

Cesar Ramirez is a People & Culture (HR) Leader with 15+ years' experience in corporate and startup organizational settings. He studied Organizational Psychology at Teachers College where he obtained his M.A. degree and became a Certified Executive Coach through the Columbia Coaching Certification Program. Cesar is passionate about partnering with people and organizations to drive results while focusing in the areas of executive coaching, organizational development, people engagement, performance management, wellness, work/life balance and most importantly ensuring people remain happy in the workplace.
Originally from Colombia, growing up in New York City, and now based in Tampa Bay, Cesar enjoys partnering with leaders to address organizational pain points while compassionately fostering their #1 asset - people. Currently, Cesar is the Global Head of People & Culture with ValGenesis, a cutting-edge tech company servicing 30 of the top 50 biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies across the US and around the world. He previously was Head of People with a tech startup (NTENT) and a medical device company (SS White Dental). Outside of work, you can find Cesar cycling, meditating, reading, public speaking, helping others, and spending time with his wife and son.
