Summer Principals Academy NYC Degree Pathways

The Summer Principals Academy offers two pathways to your degree in Education Leadership. Applicants who do not yet possess a graduate degree are invited to apply to the 36-credit Master of Arts degree program. Those who already possess a Masters degree in the field of education are invited to apply for the Master of Education degree and, if accepted, will apply 24 credits towards this 60-credit degree program. See below for more details on the pathway that best suits your needs and previous educational experience.

All Summer Principals Academy NYC applicants must:

  • Be committed to educational equity in our nation's urban schools.
  • Possess a minimum of three years of full-time, paid teaching experience in a public school setting.
  • Be committed to attending all dates and sessions of the two summers within their 14-month degree program, including most Saturdays during the first summer, as well as all orientation and Callback Weekend events.
  • Have the documented support of a cooperating administrator who will support all leadership activities and projects set forth in the Administrative Internship plan.
  • Have experience in formal and/or informal leadership roles in their school community.
