Sonya Troller-Renfree received the David Kucharsky Early Career Award from the International Society of Developmental Psychobiology Award and served as the keynote speaker for the 2026 NYS Early Childhood Summit.

In June, Amra Sabic-El-Rayess returned to the Holocaust Center of Florida as keynote speaker for its Teacher's Institute, themed "The Fragility of Democracy." For the Seattle, Wash. Holocaust Center for Humanity's 2026 Virtual Day of Learning: Teaching and Learning About Genocide, she presented "Hatred Has a Final Destination: From the Bosnian Genocide to a Prevention Roadmap for American Educators." In April, she had delivered the keynote, "The Pedagogy of Belonging: What Assessment Systems Must Protect in the Age of Artificial Intelligence," at the State Examination Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan's tenth-anniversary conference in Baku.

Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz delivered the Dr. Edmund Gordon Distinguished Lecture at American University, titled: "Censorship, Resistance, and Freedom Dreaming in Education.”

Garnett Russell has been selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for 2026-2027 and will be hosted at the University for Peace in Costa Rica.

Amina Tawasil received The Clifford Geertz Prize Honorable Mention in the Anthropology of Religion and was named the Program Chair of the Society of Humanistic Anthropology Fall 2026 Conference “‘Choosing Each Othe’”: Multimodal Ethnographies of Friendship as Community Care.”

Nick Wasserman was invited to give a plenary presentation at the XVI Simposio de Matemática y Educación Matemática (MEM XVI) in Bogota, Colombia.
