Columbia Coaching Certification Program

Columbia Coaching Certification Program (3CP)

Over a period of a year, Columbia Coaching Certification Program (3CP) participants will navigate a path towards mastery of Three Coaching Foundations (i.e., Guiding Principles, Competencies, and Process). The program starts with a 1-Week Front-end Coaching Intensive (FECI) offered on an open-enrollment basis. Participants wishing to pursue full certification are invited to continue with the 8-month, technology-enabled, field-based coaching practicum (please note an undergraduate degree is required to enroll in this segment of the programs). Candidates who successfully meet all the requirements of the practicum, are invited to enroll in the 1-Week Advanced Coaching Intensive (ACI), followed by a 60-Day Certification Document Posting Period and a 30-Day Certification Processing period prior to granting the Graduate Level Professional and Organizational Coaching Credential.

Language Program Management Certificate

The Language Program Management Certificate Program is a 5-month fully online program designed for language professionals who are interested in developing, managing, and evaluating language programs. The program is offered once a year, from January to May. The four core courses introduce aspects of program administration and operations, curriculum development, teacher development and supervision, as well as program evaluation and assessment. This flexible and 100% asynchronous online program enables students to study at their own pace and earn a certificate from the comfort of their own home.

TCSOL/TESOL Dual Certificate Summer Program in Osaka, Japan

This dual certificate program provides intensive training in the teaching of both Chinese and English. Participants, however, have the option of obtaining either a single certificate either in TCSOL or TESOL, or a dual TCSOL/TESOL certificate. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate jointly issued by Teachers College, Columbia University and Osaka Gakuin University to acknowledge their participation and achievement in the program.

Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL)

The certificate program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) is a one-year program which offers state-of-the-art training in Chinese pedagogy. It sets learners on a fast-track to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for operating effectively in current and future classrooms, and also provides academic preparation for further professional development. The TCSOL Certificate Program is appropriate for both pre-service and in-service language teachers.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

This program offers hybrid teacher training for aspiring and current TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) professionals, with classes taking place 50% online and 50% onsite at Teachers College, Columbia University. It is available in both an intensive, full-time format in the summer (May to August) and a part-time format spanning across the fall and spring semesters (September to April). Upon completion, students are awarded a certificate with 28 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and/or a CTLE Certificate (280 hours).
