We are doing outreach to colleges in an effort to form a partnership to connect students to careers.  Our Division of Early Childhood Education collaborates with Community Based Organizations (CBOs), also known as NYC Early Education Centers (NYCEECs). These orgs include daycare centers, faith-based organizations, non-profits, nursery schools, and private-pay programs.  These positions are not within a NYC Public School. Instead, each CBO hires its own teachers and staff, and operates under different calendars, salaries, and benefits.
One of the major advantages of working in a CBO is that it's possible for a teacher candidate to get hired as a "Study Plan teacher" as they work towards completing their Early Childhood Education degree and/or Birth-2 certification. It also broadens the opportunities available for candidates who have not been able to find a position inside one of our public schools or who would prefer to work in an alternative setting.
Here are two links you can share with your current students, alumni, and overall network who are seeking career opportunities.
Apply for Teaching Positions in CBOs
This link is for job seekers who are interested in teacher, assistant teacher, and education director positions.
Apply for Additional Opportunities in CBOs
This link is for job seekers who are open to a variety of different roles in our CBOs depending on what they may qualify for. In addition to classroom positions, we also recruit for roles such as family service workers, administrative support, and various other roles that may arise.
Candidates will be required to create/sign in using a GMail account.
