Association for Educational Anthropology (AEA)

Mission Statement

The Association for Educational Anthropology (AEA) promotes anthropological inquiry in education and supports reflexive praxis within both fields. Situated within the Programs in Anthropology at Teachers College, Columbia University, AEA is comprised of students, faculty, alumni, and community members in support of graduate student research and professional development.

Vision Statement

AEA seeks to share the varied and unique perspectives of anthropology with the broader academic community and to increase awareness of anthropology as a powerful lens through which academic research can be developed and progressive societal action can be taken. This is to be achieved through an array of activities including but not limited to educational programming as well as social and political actions.
