The front steps of 525 West 120th Street mark both the beginning and the end of many journeys at Teachers College. For new graduate students, arriving for the first time can bring a mix of excitement and nerves. After countless papers, presentations, and late nights in the library, these steps now stand as a place of celebration, marking how far our graduates have come.
Students, families, friends, and faculty came together on May 19th to celebrate the graduation of 32 master’s and 6 doctoral students in the International and Comparative Education Program (ICEP). Following the formal ceremony at the United Palace, graduates and their families gathered for a more intimate departmental reception at Teachers College. It was a unique opportunity for graduates to share their experiences and bring together the various communities that have shaped their journey, including faculty, mentors, classmates, and their loved ones.

The atmosphere at the reception reflected both pride in what graduates accomplished and bittersweet reflections as they leave the ICEP community, which many consider home. More noticeable was a feeling of excitement, as graduates prepare for what comes next: beginning doctoral programs, starting new roles, or taking well-earned time to rest and reflect.
We are proud of everyone who completed their Master’s and Doctoral degrees this year. Your curiosity, perspectives, and dedication have shaped the ICEP community in meaningful ways. We look forward to seeing what comes next for you!
