American Association for Applied Linguistics: The American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) home page includes information on the executive committee, application for membership, awards, resolutions, upcoming conferences and more.

Center for Applied Linguistics: The Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) aims to promote and improve the teaching and learning of languages, identify and solve problems related to language and culture, and serve as a resource for information about language and culture.

European Association for Language Testing and Assessment (EALTA): The purpose of EALTA is to promote the understanding of theoretical principles of language testing and assessment, and the improvement and sharing of testing and assessment practices throughout Europe. EALTA is a professional association for language testers in Europe.

International Association for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL): This organization offers a range of regular publications, including IATEFL Issues and the newsletters of the Special Interest Groups (SIGS), with news and articles on the latest developments in English language teaching written by leading writers from all sectors of the profession; an on-going world-wide program of events for ELT professionals; an Annual International Conference attracting 1500+ delegates with a program of talks, workshops and a chance to see all the latest publications and services in a full ELT resources exhibition.

International Language Testing Association (ILTA): The purpose of the organization is to promote the improvement of language testing throughout the world.

International Linguistic Association: The International Linguistic Association (ILA) is a group of linguists at colleges and universities in the New York area. The ILA publishes its journal Word which appears three times a year. Each issue contains articles and reviews.

International Pragmatics Association (IPrA): The International Pragmatics Association (IPrA) is an international scientific organization devoted to the study of language use. It was established in 1986 to represent the field of pragmatics in its widest interdisciplinary sense as a functional perspective on language and communication. IPrA is a recognized member of the Consortium of Affiliates for International Programs of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

International Systemic-Functional Linguistics Association (ISFLA): The main aim of ISFLA is the organization of Systemic-Functional events, and the promotion of Systemic-Functional Linguistics in the international context.

Linguistic Society of America (LSA): The Linguistic Society of America (LSA) is the largest linguistic society in the world and welcomes linguists of all kinds.

National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE): The National Association for Bilingual Education is a professional organization concerned with the education of language-minority students in American schools.

National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA): NCELA collects, coordinates, and conveys a broad range of research and resources in support of an inclusive approach to high quality education for ELs. To fulfill its mission, NCELA supports high quality networking among state-level administrators of Title III programs. In addition to SEA coordinators, NCELA serves other stakeholders involved in ELL education, including teachers and other practitioners, parents, university faculty, administrators, and federal policymaker.

NYS TESOL: NYS TESOL is a nonprofit group of professionals concerned with the education of English language learners at all levels of public and private education in New York State. Their interests include classroom practices, research, program and curriculum development, finding, and legislation.

British Association of Applied Linguistics (BAAL): BAAL is a professional association based in the UK, which provides a forum for people interested in language and the applications of linguistics. BAAL organises scientific meetings, and publishes a newsletter and conference proceedings.

Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics/Association canadienne de linguistique appliquie(CAAL/ACLA): CAAL/ACLA is the official association of applied linguistics for Canada. It publishes a bi-yearly journal (the Canadian Journal of Applied Linguistics/la Revue canadienne de linguistique appliquie) and holds a yearly conference at which over one hundred papers are given, in either official language, on a variety of topics in applied linguistics.

European Second Language Association (EuroSLA): EuroSLA is a society for people with a research interest in Second Language Acquisition. It runs an annual conference for its members, and a number of specialised seminar meetings. Some of this work is published in an annual publication.

International Association for the Study of Child Language (IASCL): IASCL was founded to promote international and interdisciplinary cooperation in the study of child language. Its major activity is the sponsorship of the triennial International Congress for the Study of Child Language. In addition to the congresses, the IASCL produces the Child Language Bulletin approximately twice a year, with directory information, book notices, a conference calendar, and other useful information.

International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA): AILA is the international federation of national or regional associations of Applied Linguistics. It organizes conferences, and other activities in the field of applied linguistics. Through its member associations, AILA currently has a membership of more than 8,000 individuals worldwide who as researchers, policy makers or practitioners are active in the field of Applied Linguistics.
