Alaina Gostomski has achieved a fellowship with the Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization (PLATO) for the 2024–2025 academic school year. She will use the fellowship money to enhance the Philosophy for Children program that she started three years ago at Teachers College Community School. Philosophy for Children is a dialogic practice where students learn to engage in philosophical inquiry together. With help from her assistant Yun Shyy, a master's student in the program, Gostomski plans to integrate an experiential learning component into the curriculum, which will allow students to apply and connect their philosophical insights through art-making and a field trip.
