Katherine Y. Chung is the program manager for both the Economics and Education and the Sociology and Education programs. Before coming to the EPSA department, Katherine served as the administrative director for the National Center for Children and Families at Teachers College, Columbia University; associate director, writing committee reports to the trustees on behalf of Columbia University’s Committee on Socially Responsible Investing; chief of staff to the provost at Pace University; as well as director in the Office of the Dean at Columbia Law School, a role that was the culmination of subsequent promotions from her first position as a research assistant as a college freshman. In addition, Katherine was a student-teacher of basic French and Latin in New York City public schools; a literacy tutor for Harlem Village Academies; and a volunteer, for example as an English instructor, in children's homes in Mexico, Guatemala, and Mozambique.
