Padlet

Padlet

What is Padlet?

Padlet is an online bulletin board accessible on any device via a web link or the Padlet app. Padlet supports collaboration and interaction. Faculty and students can add text, links, attachments, and share images and videos in their posts. Interaction includes writing comments and liking posts.

Availability

  1. Current TC faculty and students can create a TC Premium Padlet account by going to TC's Padlet account and logging in with your TC Gmail account.
  2. Padlet can be embedded into Canvas for instructional purposes.
  3. A Padlet app is available for iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPad Touch), Android and Kindle devices.

Accessibility

Padlet does not meet or partially meets the majority of the Teachers College Accessibility Criteria. It is recommended that if a student is unable to access Padlet, they reach out to OASID. For individuals with low vision, the high contrast web extension for chrome can increase color contrast within Padlet. Due to the lack of ability to add alt text, users should be notified to add a caption or description underneath each photo or video they add. Users should also be encouraged to choose videos that are already captioned to add into Padlet. Faculty using Padlet should notify their students about these workarounds so they can integrate them into their workflow.
