Supported Software

Supported Teaching and Learning Technology Tools

Teachers College regularly reviews digital tools used for teaching and learning. Products are checked to ensure they meet TC’s standards for security, privacy, accessibility, and other College requirements.

Below are products that support instruction that have been reviewed by TC. There are a wide range of technologies that are licensed and supported by the College. Other products only partially meet TC standards, are not currently funded, or are not supported by the College.

Pilot programs are run for some products while they go through the TC review process. For software that is being piloted, DFI provides faculty with limited technological and financial support. Faculty members interested in piloting any of these tools should contact DFI

If you are a TC faculty member and do not see software you want to use in class listed on this page, please contact DFI so that we can support your use of innovative technology.

The below products have been reviewed by Teachers College and are supported by TC staff. Click on the “How to Use” button for each product to learn more about how to access, receive training, and get support for each product.

*Does not meet TC’s accessibility requirements

These products were tested and reviewed by TC’s Office of Access and Services for Individuals with Disabilities (OASID) and did not meet TC’s accessibility standards. OASID recommends seeking out additional, more accessible products.

When no alternative product is available, you may apply for a Temporary Exception by completing an Equally Effective Alternate Access Plan (EEAAP). This plan will explain how individuals with disabilities can access the information or participate in the activity until the website or product is brought up to comply with accessibility requirements. Contact OASID at oasid@tc.edu to learn more about applying for an EEAAP.

Use of Unsupported Products

In instances where unsupported products are required for a course or department, an equivalent and accessible option must be identified and offered.

Additional Notes

  • Requiring the use of an unsupported and inaccessible product is strongly discouraged as users of assistive technology will struggle to accomplish the same tasks as their peers independently or at all.
  • A disability can be acquired at any time, and students may choose not to disclose a disability. Even in the absence of any individuals that have disclosed a disability in your course, it is required to use products that have been vetted and approved.
  • Individuals that use assistive technology rely on the accessible design of online learning tools to interact with them.

Though supported and unsupported products feature accessible functions, it is still the content creator's responsibility to enable such functions and adhere to accessibility content standards when creating experiences for TC. If you have any questions about the accessibility of these products, please contact oasid@tc.edu

New Instructional Software Trials

Looking to try a new technology in your class? Pilot programs are run for some products while they go through the TC review process. For software that is being piloted, DFI provides faculty with limited technological and financial support.

Faculty members interested in being part of pilot programs for these tools should contact DFI. DFI will assist instructors to pilot new instructional software, never used at TC before. After reviewing the list of supported software, instructors can suggest new software by submitting a request.
