The Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education (CIFLTE) at Teachers College, Columbia University prepares language educators to meet the demands of our increasingly interconnected world. Through cutting-edge, research-informed teacher training and classroom-based inquiry, CIFLTE supports the development of qualified teachers of Chinese and English across diverse global contexts.

CIFLTE is currently accepting applications for its Summer 2026 programs:

  • TCSOL/TESOL Dual Certificate Program Online
  • TCSOL/TESOL Dual Certificate Program in Osaka

These programs provide fast-track, rigorous training in foreign language pedagogy through 60-hour single-track (TCSOL or TESOL) and 90-hour dual-track options. Whether you are a pre-service or in-service teacher, a program administrator, or a university faculty member seeking topics at the interface of theory and practice, CIFLTE's programs offer what cannot be found elsewhere.
