Practice Rooms

Music practice rooms (on the fifth floor of TC’s Horace Mann building) are available to rent for the Fall 2022 semester. 

Who can rent a room?

Practice rooms may be rented by: 

• Any student (from any Columbia school with an active ID) who is enrolled in TC Studio Music Lessons during the Fall semester (beginning 9/20)
• Teachers College Music and Music Education students (beginning 9/28)

What does my rental include?

For a fee (fully refunded when your room key is returned), users may reserve up to five hours per week - no more than an hour per day. 

Each room is equipped with a Steinway 1098 upright piano, armless chairs, a music stand and an air filtration system.   

When are the Fall semester practice rooms available?

9/20 - 12/22, 9am-9pm, Mon-Fri

Note that practice rooms are unavailable on:

• Weekends
• Election day (11/8)
• Thanksgiving holiday (11/24, 11/25)
• Winter holiday (12/23 - 1/31)

When must I return my practice room key?  

Room keys must be returned no later than 12/20.
