Turnitin

What is Turnitin?

Turnitin is designed to encourage academic integrity. It allows faculty to have student papers and written assignments check for originality by comparing the text to internet sources, other student submissions, and academic databases.

After a student submits an assignment that requires the Turnitin plagiarism check, Turnitin provides a similarity report, which is a color-coded report highlighting content that matches other sources.

Availability

Faculty can add a Turnitin check to any Canvas assignment or can submit an individual paper directly to Turnitin.
