Music Lessons

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Applied Music lessons!

Applied Music lessons are available on any instrument at any level. Teachers College Applied Music lessons are offered for two credits only.

To sign up for Applied Music lessons:  Please fill out a survey during the regular Teachers College registration period for each semester (the link is below).   Surveys must be completed one day before add/drop of the corresponding term in order to be considered.

What happens next?:  You’ll be contacted by the Music Education program (within four business days) with information on how to register.  Then, just before Add/Drop, your instructor will contact you to set up a lesson day, time and meeting place.  Students receive 10 hours of lesson time per semester for 2 credits at Teachers College. Students and their instructor will decide how to divide the time (i.e., how long each lesson will last) and how often you will meet.

Registration for Applied Music lessons for the following semesters is now open:

  • Summer A 2018 (May 17 – June 27)
  • Summer B 2018 (July 9 – Aug 17)
  • Fall 2018 (Sept 5 – Dec 21)

The Applied Lessons Summer A, Summer B, and Fall 2018 registration survey can be found here.
