Medical Plans help pay providers for services and treatments. They may not cover unexpected costs that arise from suffering an accident, being diagnosed with serious illnesses or conditions, or visiting a hospital.
Teachers College and Aetna partnered to provide three plans that can help give you financial support when you need it most. These benefits can be used to help with expenses ranging from deductibles and copays to mortgages and groceries.

For Healthcare FSAs, funds must be used by March 15th of the following year; all claims must be submitted by April 30th
For Dependent Care FSA, funds must be used by December 31st

- HSA can be used to pay for Medical Expenses

Basic Life Insurance and Basic AD&D
- Full-time professional, instructional, and professional staff are covered under a $30,000 policy through The Standard
- Life Insurance Company of New York paid by the College. Employees are auto-enrolled into the group policy
Voluntary Supplemental Life Insurance and Supplemental AD&D
- Employees may purchase coverage for themselves, their spouse, and their dependent children
- Employees may elect up to $500,000
- Coverage for Spouse may be elected up to $50,000
- Coverage for Dependent Children up to $8,000 per eligible child
- Employees electing coverage amounts of $100,000 or more will need to submit an Evidence of Insurability form directly on The Standard website
